Roundtable Staff Objectives

Roundtables are a form of commissioner service and supplemental training for volunteers at all levels. The objective of roundtables is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. The roundtable commissioner and staff demonstrate elements of a model meeting that leaders may use as a pattern for their own meetings. The roundtable experience will inspire, motivate, and enable unit leaders to provide a stronger program for their Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos and Boy Scouts.

NEW Camp Cards Program!

A Scout is Thrifty. . . .He earns his own way to Summer Camp!

The Blue Ridge Mountains Council is pleased to announce a new program called the "Camp Card".  This initiative is designed to help Scouts earn their way to camp.  Units participating in this program will earn 50% commission ($2.50) on each $5 Camp Card they sell.  The cards will be distributed at March District Roundtables.  The sale will end on May 14th giving units over 2 months to sell and close out their accounts.  This program is RISK FREE, simply return any unsold cards.

The Camp card is a plastic card that fits into any wallet or pocket, offering discounts or free items from specific vendors. Customers who present the card at those vendors are eligible for the discounts. Camp Cards will be sold for $5 each and offer discounts for up to one year at participating vendors. In addition, there are snap-off coupons on the sides of the card. These are broken off and presented to the vendor as one-time use coupons. With so many vendors and discounts, the Camp Card customer can easily recover their $5 investment and enjoy discounts all year long!

Roundtable Volunteers

Scout Leaders,

I am looking for a Troop to demonstrate or talk about what goes on during their Court of Honor advancement ceremony. We have a lot of Troops and it would be great if we could share ideas about this subject. If you are interested, please call me at 434.710.4408 as soon as possible.

I would also like for one Adult leader volunteer to cook their favorite scouting dish and bring it to March Roundtable to share with the group. This can be a Dutch Oven dish or any other dish you have have. You will only need to bring the food, some stryofoam cups and plastic forks or spoons to the meeting. We will 'pass the hat' to help you recoup some of your expenses if you so desire. If you are interested in this, call me at 434.710.4408 as soon as possible.

I appreciate any help you can give.
