Roundtable Staff Objectives

Roundtables are a form of commissioner service and supplemental training for volunteers at all levels. The objective of roundtables is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. The roundtable commissioner and staff demonstrate elements of a model meeting that leaders may use as a pattern for their own meetings. The roundtable experience will inspire, motivate, and enable unit leaders to provide a stronger program for their Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos and Boy Scouts.

Meeting Times:

Monthly from September to May

The First Thursday night of the month

7 PM - 8 PM

Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church, Danville VA

Announcement

Each year, for the past many years, the Boy Scouts have helped set flags by the grave markers at the Lee St Veterans Cemetery in Danville for Memorial Day. This has always been an honorable service project for those that have attended, and I'd like to invite all of you to participate. The flag placing project starts at 8:00 AM Saturday May 29th. All scouts, scouters, and citizens may participate. We ask that scouts dress in class A uniforms. The event usually only lasts an hour or so. Many hands make quick work.
 
The cemetery is located ½ mile south of Main St and east of Jefferson, on Lee St.
Park on Lee St by the cemetery office.
 
The Memorial Day service sponsored by the American Legion takes place Monday Memorial Day at 2:30 PM. All branches of the armed services are represented and it is a moving ceremony. All citizens are invited to attend.
